One Month

Our little stinker-butt is one month old today. (Isn't that a loving nickname? She's earned it let me tell you!)

I feel as if the time both flew by and dragged on. I remember being at UVA and thinking it was going to be an eternity before I got to take any of my girls home. (Notify Webster, an eternity is now defined as 3 weeks.) My life has never been on such an emotional roller coaster before, my head is still spinning sometimes. There are moments where I look at her and am in awe that she's mine. (well...Jake's too  I guess!)

Chucky-Sue and I are starting to get along a bit more. I'm slowly (oh so slowly) learning her little cries and whimpers and what they mean. I'm even more slowly learning that I don't have to stand over her crib and watch her during all her naps. She's a noisy little baby, she squeaks, quacks, grunts, gurgles and hums. Of course, one day I think we're in a nice rhythm and groove, then she goes and changes it all on me (or stupid daylight savings does. I did not like last night.)

We took her to church today (I needed to A: have adult conversation B: Show off my cutie and C: have sacrament) and she did pretty well, she got a teeny bit fussy while eating, but nowhere near her best hissy-fit. Everyone else was very good at not touching her, which I know is hard, she's just so darn squishable!!

She has another doc appointment on friday, just checking her weight gain and a quick listen at her murmur. My bet is that she's over 7lbs6oz by then- any takers?

My Zack is a squeaker/hummer/etc too! I'm considering moving him from the bassinet to his crib b/c I wake up at every sound! I know all about the watching them sleep thing too. I was worse with Breeley, but I think that's why I have the bassinet in the first place... the crib is just so far away! I'm glad you could get out and go to church. And glad things seem to be going well.
